Nova Scotia Solar Rebates & Incentives — 2026 Guide
This guide covers the current state of solar rebates, grants, and financing programs available to Nova Scotia homeowners as of March 2026. The SolarHomes rebate and federal Canada Greener Homes programs have both closed. Here is what remains available.

What Is Still Available
The following solar value and financing options remain active for Nova Scotia homeowners as of March 2026.
NS Power Net Metering (Self-Generating Option)
ActiveCredits solar exports at the retail rate (~$0.18/kWh). Credits bank year-round and offset your usage. Unused credits expire January 1. Note: the monthly base charge ($19.17) cannot be offset by solar credits. Province-wide for all NSP customers.
Municipal PACE Programs
Active — select municipalitiesSeveral Nova Scotia municipalities still run their own PACE programs. Active options include Halifax Solar City, Colchester's Solar Colchester and Cozy Colchester programs, and the SwitchPACE programs in West Hants Regional Municipality and the Municipality of Pictou County. Eligibility depends on your property address. Note: the province-wide Clean Energy Financing program (Clean Foundation) has closed to new applications.

The following municipalities and programs reflect the PACE set we are tracking. Halifax Solar City, Colchester, West Hants, and Pictou County remain active. The province-wide Clean Energy Financing program (Clean Foundation) has closed to new applications, so its municipalities are shown below as closed. Halifax Solar City: Published Halifax program pages show Solar City financing remains available through HRM. Verify current terms and registration directly at halifax.ca/about-solar-city.
Municipality of Colchester (Solar Colchester / Cozy Colchester): Published Colchester program pages currently include both Solar Colchester and Cozy Colchester. Verify current funding limits, terms, and eligibility directly with the municipality at colchester.ca/solar-colchester and colchester.ca/cozy-colchester.

Clean Energy Financing (Clean Foundation)
Closed to new applications across all participating municipalities — Digby, Yarmouth, Barrington, Bridgewater, Amherst, New Glasgow, Lunenburg, Cumberland, Victoria, Inverness, Chester, and East Hants. Existing applicants: cleanenergyfinancing@cleanfoundation.ca.
